AVCJ Private Equity & Venture Forum - Korea, 31 August 2016
Delivering value in a low growth era
31 August, 2016 l South Korea- Seoul Westin Chosun Hotel
South Korean remains one of the most consistent markets in the region, as the private equity and venture capital industry thrives. US$2.3 billion was invested into South Korean companies in the first quarter of 2016, a significant 90% increase on the last quarter of 2015 and exits topped US$3.1 billion, accounting for one-third of Asia's total exit value in the same period.
There is every reason to believe that the opportunities will continue in the buyout space as the Chaebols continue to divest non-core assets and activity in the mid-market continues to rise. At the same time, the country is an increasingly attractive fundraising destination as Korean LPs look to meet international GPs for portfolio diversification.
